Cold Stone Ice Cream social to Fundraiser

Customers received a 3oz ice cream as they made donations.

I helped with giving the ice cream samples and spoke with all the people that came out to support Make a Wish Foundation. The Manger of the Cold Stone at Birkdale Village in Huntersville, NC was Niki, and she was supportive as well as her staff. They had set a goal of $250.00. We had surpassed that gold by 7:00pm and keep it going.

All the volunteers got to meet and talk with the wish family about there wish child, Katerina, who's wish was to go to Disney World. Their family got to speak about there experience and how wonderful Make a Wish Foundation was for everything they do.

Thank you to everyone that came out and supported Make a Wish Foundation. Each time I volunteer with Make a Wish Foundation it is such a humbling experience and realize how blessed I am.

Reign Fashion Show in High Point NC

Julie and LaDaria had a great time at the Reign Fashion Show in High Point, North Carolina. The ladies were assisting in showcasing the beautiful gowns and suits offered at Reign to the Miss NC USA Contestants during a Meet and Greet they had.

Mrs North Carolina "American Red Cross Blood and Bone Marrow Drive"

The NC Sickle Cell Foundation hosted a Bone Marrow testing and blood drive as a collaborative effort to help those in need like Sicke Cell patients. This event was specifically geared towards finding a bone marrow match for a 19 year old student at North Carolina Central University. Mrs. North Carolina International was one of the first to give blood was also tested to see if she was a match to be the first bone marrow donor for the recipient. This was her first time donating blood and for her first time, she deemed it very important because she carries the trait for sickle cell and the blood disease runs in her family genes.

The drive took place Sept. 15-17th on the campus of NCCU in Durham North Carolina. Over 500 students came out to give blood to help make this event successful! Mrs. North Carolina urges all who can to go to their local American Red Cross or blood bank to give blood and help save lives no matter what the cause. Thanks all of the volunteers and participants who helped make this drive possible!

Prayers for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation

We are sad to announce, Mike Traynor, the President and the Co- Founder with his Wife, of the PBTF has passed away 9-12-09 at the age of 70 years old. we would like to ask for prayers for the Foundation and his family. Mike was a really sweet man and and had a heart of gold to helping find the cure for the Pediatric Brain tumors, so that kids could live longer and healthy life's. We will miss him and always love him.

The Once Upon A Dream Inspiration Award was presented to the person that has inspired others to spread your wings and reach your dreams with passion, integrity, and most of all joy. Austin update.....

This was a great function and silent Auction for the end of the fiscal year. I got to meet some great people. The News and Observer was there taking pictures. It was held at the Ashton End which is a great high end apartment community.

We had great food from different vendors, mingled and the night was topped off by a thirteen year old her was diagnosed with sickle cell when she was two weeks old and her wish was to be on Americas top model.

Her wish was granted with an awesome trip to New York.

Thanks to Make a Wish and our community this was a great success!

Checking in with Courtney Cox -Miss Teen South Carolina International

Courtney began her freshman year at Clemson University three weeks after returning from the Miss Teen International pageant. During her time at Clemson she has become a true tiger. After camping out for football tickets and donning her orange clothes for "Solid Orange Friday", Courtney really feels like a part of the Clemson family. She is a part of CBE, the Clemson Business Experience, which is a group of freshman who are all pre-business majors who live together in their dorm, Benet Hall. This group does community service, business tours, and prepares them for their time in the Clemson Business school. She is still getting used to dorm life, and really misses home, but living only forty miles away isn't a bad trip for her to make every weekend. Courtney will be turning 19 soon, on September 13th, and is celebrating in Greenville with her family and friends.
