Hello everyone! As I dive further into volunteering with my charity, The NASCAR Foundation, I would like to share some information with you so you too are up to speed on why this charity is so important.

What is The NASCAR Foundation?
The NASCAR Foundation is dedicated to raising funds and increasing volunteerism to support charities and charitable causes throughout the nation through events, such as NASCAR Day, with an emphasis placed on initiatives that help children live happier, healthier lives. Since 2004, NASCAR Day has raised more than $8 million for charity thanks to the generosity of our fans. NASCAR Day will be held on Friday, May 20, which is the Friday prior to the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Challenge at Charlotte Motor Speedway. NASCAR Day has become one of the most important and fastest-growing traditions in the NASCAR Family.

The NASCAR Foundation has developed partnerships with over 150 charities nationwide to help children lead happier, healthier lives. If you have a charity, or belong to a charity who would like to partner with The NASCAR Foundation, I invite you to fill-out a grant application. Please visit www.nascar.com/foundation to download the application or email Shelly Biby at sbiby@nascarfoundation.com.

If you are a fan of the sport, then you may already know most of our NASCAR Drivers have charities which are supported by the NASCAR Foundation. For a link to each of the NASCAR Drivers charities, please visit www.nascar.com/foundation. If you have a favorite driver you can also “Like” their charity Facebook page and sign-up for upcoming events where they need your help.

How has Janet Bolin been involved with the NASCAR Foundation?
I have been a volunteer with The NASCAR Foundation since its inception. Some of my volunteer projects include helping collect donations for NASCAR Day in sales along with coordinating NASCAR Foundation Track Walk events and coordinating volunteers and drivers participating in the NASCAR Day Telethon Broadcast on SPEED Channel. I am thrilled to be Mrs. North Carolina International 2011, to bring recognition and awareness to a charity that everyone can rally behind.

I will also share most of the Officially Licensed NASCAR products sold at the NASCAR.COM Superstore also give a portion of their proceeds to the NASCAR Foundation. Fetha Styx Fishing Rods, Action Racing Collectibles Die-cast cars, Jostens products and more all contribute to the NASCAR Foundation. So, next time you need to purchase some great new products, feel good about your purchase.

I am always open for questions. You can email me anytime at fitroyalty@gmail.com. And, if you still need your NASCAR Day pin, I welcome you to follow this link. http://store.nascar.com/entry.point?entry=11262326&source=NASCARDay_STORE:MrsNorthCarolina:04_04_11
