Melissa meets Elizabeth Dole and kicks off college game

I am a student at NC State so I have the challenge of balancing my speaking engagements, appearances and class work but sometimes I am able to combine my school spirit and appearances. This happened at the NC State football game against Boston College. I made a special appearance on the field before kickoff and proudly held our state flag. I was then honored to meet Elizabeth Dole our state senator. With all the fun and wonderful events I still have my focus on what is truly important. I look forward to working with the local hospitals and many organizations in the area to continue on my mission of encouraging others to not only believe in their dreams but also in themselves. I also wish to work with young girls and talk to them about the meaning of true beauty and help them to see the beauty that lies within all of us.

Maria founds Adopt-A Mom and talks about upcoming Princess Party
On October 14th I was honored to come speak at the ladies of Philoptochos meeting. I shared my story and discussed the events I am currently taking part of. I am organizing and throwing a Princess Party at the North Carolina Chapter of Make-A-Wish in Raleigh, and have founded my own organization, Adopt-A-Mom. The Princess Party will be thrown for wish children who had Disney or princess incorporated wishes-and the Adopt-A-Mom program will be in honor of those mothers who have children with life-threatening medical conditions. For only $10 a pampering set and gift basket will be given to these women who are the true angels. I would like to thank the ladies of Philoptochos for allowing me to come and share my story, thank you!All my love,

Maria visits Mccain rally in Wilmington!
John McCain came to Wilmington on October 13th! AH! I was so excited. Even though I didn’t have a ticket to attend the rally, I threw on a cute suit, and showed up with my sash. An event coordinator talked to a police man, who then talked to secret service who got me into third row VIP at McCain’s speech, I was thrilled! It’s amazing what that sash can get you ladies ;) But I am very thankful I was allowed in, it was an experience that I will never forget!
