The 24th Annual Carolina Blood Drive was held at
the Dean E.
Smith Center
on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The American Red Cross collected 784 productive units of blood that will be
turned into 2,352 products. I learned that it takes 1600 units of blood DAILY
for the Carolinas Region of the American Red Cross to supply the needs of
hospitals. Donations are important because one unit of blood can impact as many
as three patients. Thank you to all of the donors, you are sustaining the lives
of the sick and injured!
