Event Sign on display at Lion's Jeweler's
Louise Roth, who is employed at Lions Jewelers, is 71 and has set a goal to raise $71,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Poster children Landon and Lindsay. The Fundraising Celebration was held at The Palm Restaurant 12 - 2:30, with a Catered Luncheon. It was a casual get-together for all to mingle and enjoy a delicious luncheon while honoring Landon and Lindsay, as well as Louise's efforts. Unfortunately, Landon, who is going through treatment now, was unable to attend.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is a national voluntary health agency dedicated to curing leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and to improving the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS was established in 1949 as The de Villiers Foundation. In 2000, LLS changed its name from The Leukemia Society of America to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to emphasize its commitment to fighting all blood cancers.
The raffle prize was a beautiful Charles Krypell silver necklace with Green Amethyst and Lemon Citrine valued at $3,500 donated by Charles Krypell through Lions Jewelers.
Lindsay, who turns 5 in May, was diagnosed at the age of 2 with a rare form of Leukemia. She has been in remission for 18 months, and hopefully will remain in remission for another 18 months so that she can be considered cured of the disease.
