This was a very fulfilling day of volunteerism to help Caitlyn's Closet and Katie Godfrey! The event was held on March 19th at 4:30PM at the Glenn High School Auditorium in Kernersville, NC. I handed out gift bags to the first 24 girls, who came in the door, and then monitored the dressing rooms. My sister Queens were also there to help as well as other visiting Queens.
Julie Abernathy, Mrs North Carolina America 2009 applied mini makeovers to the young girls after they found their "perfect gown" to wear to their prom! Katie was able to collect over 267 gowns with the help of Susie Blackwell of Splurges and Penny Hull of The Treasure Hull. The very successful event had an attendance of 137 girls with local media coverage!
Terra Bailey of Terra Bailey Photography was on site and captured the girls trying on gowns. She photographed dreams coming true....the girls realizing they could choose a gown to wear to their prom at no cost!
The event made girls feel good about themselves, pampered and pretty all in one afternoon!
This is a wonderful charity for anybody to participate! I look forward to helping out again next year!
Stay tuned for more Caitlyn's Closet events!
